About Your Red Deer Newborn Photographer | Paige Koster Photography

After I received my first digital camera at the age of 16, I would find it hard to put it down and from there onwards my love for photography further developed. I opened my Red Deer Photography Studio in 2017 after being a hobbyist for plenty of years and working in and as a manager in many big chain photography studios. This experience blended with passion has led me to open my dream studio specializing in Maternity, Newborn, and Children Photography. We also take up projects that have to do with local business, family portraits, and wedding photography.

Red Deer Newborn Photographer | Paige Koster Photography | Before & After

Hi Guys!

It's Friday - and what's better then waking up, grabbing a coffee and reading all about your favourite Red Deer Newborn Photographer?

-Not a thing...  Except maybe if you are still sleeping, because then I am super jealous of you.

Anyways, I have a busy day ahead with finishing off some Christmas Mini's with some lovely clients! Tomorrow we have 3 back to back sessions which you will get to see sneak peeks of next week!

Sunday? Well, I'm sure I'll see you at the Winter Market at The Baymount Inn from 10a-4pm <3

-Back to the point -

I wanted to give you a glimpse of some before and afters of my images. Typically, photographers don't show RAW unedited images - but I really feel like in this case, to show you that what I do is a lot more then snapping a photo, these really show you the art and work that goes into newborn photography as well.

Here is a little before and after to blow your mind! And yes, that's pee on the beanbag... She waited for a solid 5 minutes for me to move my handy dandy pee mat, just to pee on the fabric. (It's totally okay, and completely normal - and they get washed EVERY session, pee or no pee.

Maternity Stylized Session | Drumheller, Alberta | Paige Koster Photography & JHGOWNS

First off, thank-you for reading my blog again - I know, my writing is brutal.

Months ago, Johanna and I had an idea of heading out to Drumheller, Alberta to take some Maternity images for her new line of gowns. Johanna, being a fabulous dress designer her in Alberta, got busy, as did I. Flash forward to the beginning of October, Johanna messaged me and said "Let's do it! When can do it?", and we booked a date and the rest is history (who hasn't wanted to say that?).

Johanna, owner of JHGOWNS, worked fast and found us some gorgeous maternity models for the day and a wonderful makeup artist, Makeup by Chalsey, to work with us for the day. Everything was set to run perfectly and without a hitch.

October 29th arrived and we all headed out to Drumheller, some of the models were on the road by 5am. As everyone arrived to Drumheller it was fairly obvious that we were in for a gorges day of sun, but what we didn't expect was all the wind! I believe wind gusts hit about 45/km an hour and increased as the day went on. And these models never let it bug them one single bit.

I have to give Johanna lots of praise, because withstood the whole day without taking a break in the cold. Were talking 6 hours in pretty cold temps.

Take a look below to view the images, and don't forget to leave a comment!

That's a Wrap! | Paige Koster Photography | Red Deer Wedding Photographer

The 2017 Wedding Season has officially come to a close for this Red Deer Photographer. This year I got to photograph some absolutely amazingly stunning brides, grooms and bridal parties..

Paige Koster Photography only takes on anywhere from 3-5 Weddings a year (depending on the size of the Wedding) to ensure a speedy turn around time, even during busy seasons like Fall!

My first wedding of the year was photographing the beautiful Landon & Elora. These two have been apart of my life for sometime now, and it was an absolute honour photographing their beautiful Summer Wedding. Although it rained for the majority of the wedding (That's super good luck right?), they made the best of it and had a wonderful Wedding. You can view some of their photos below...

My second wedding of the year happened to also be to one of my good friends, Darcia and her now Husband, Ben. They married in a beautiful Red Deer park, on a beautiful sunny day with some clouds. In a quick and fabulous ceremony, these two said "I Do". I'll let their pictures do the talking...

My third Wedding and my last Wedding of the Summer was in late August, held in Lacombe, Alberta. This beautiful bride, and her husband to be, were married on a beautiful hill just outside the brides parents home. Their backyard backed onto a trail area in Lacombe, and the city allowed use of it for the Wedding. It was stunning, unique and over looked a small lake. After the ceremony, we ventured off into the tree's to take some bridal party formals, and then headed back to the cocktail hour before these too headed off into the sunset for their delicious reception meal in Red Deer...

My first Wedding of the Fall - well September- was one of the most entertaining Weddings I have ever been apart of. See two blog posts ago to really dig in a little deeper about Spencer and Dessiray's Wedding. She was by far the most laid back Bride to be, even with her two little ones running around... Okay, well only one can run around.. Seriously this bride just had a baby and she looked FABULOUS!

My last Wedding of the year was in beautiful Canmore, Alberta. Although it snowed, and rained, and don't forget it was a tad windy - we had a wonderful time. The bride, and groom were perfect together and the bridal party was wonderful to get to know as well. We had a small change of plans, and the ceremony was held indoors at a beautiful hall in Canmore. Once it was official, we made our way through the wet snow to the famous CPR bridge in Canmore. We made it quick and headed back for some indoor images. Check out their images below.

Fall Family Sessions | Red Deer Photographer

Every year, right around this time, Photographers in Canada get swamped with our yearly fall family portraits. It's seriously the BEST time of the year for me, and this is because I get to see all my lovely clients and their growing families.

I wanted to take the time and share with you some of the beautiful families I had the honour of photographing this Fall Season....  Enjoy!

The Wade Wedding | Paige Koster Photography | Red Deer Photographer

I've got another stunning wedding for you guys today! The adorable couple consists of Spencer and Dessiray, two people that anyone would love to know.

Their wedding day was truly noteworthy. From Spencers Brother-In-Law being the surprise officiate of the ceremony, to a certain someone walking around with a Pig Head...

The bride's dress was seriously gorgeous, too. And I'm not just saying that! Take a look at this beautiful dress.

We had a lot of fun taking wedding pictures, as well. They decided to not see each other until Dessiray was walking down the aisle.

The wedding was at The Bentagain, the reception too and was catered by non other then handy Mom & Dad.

Okay, let's get to the pictures! Spencer & Dessiray were such a delight to work with and I wish them many wonderful years to come.

Bertin August Maternity Portraits

Hi again, everyone <3

Let me stop for a second to tell you that I am seriously the luckiest photographer in the world. My clients are always so fabulous to work with. That's true of my session with the Bertin family, too!

I met up with them in late August at "On the Farm" located in Blackfalds and the weather was perfect for photo-taking. Although it was overcast, it made for beautiful lighting. While the weather was fine, it was the Bertin family that made this shoot such a treat.

As you can see from the photos below, this family is not only photogenic, but also a close-knit group who clearly love spending time together. They are so lucky to have each other.

Our session highlights are below!

Karina | Newborn Portraits | Red Deer

A few months ago I spoke to Karina in regards to booking both a Maternity and Newborn session. We met at a local shop, and I could tell instantly that she was someone with a beautiful soul. We scheduled her Maternity portraits at the beautiful Canyon Ski Resort in Red Deer and we made her amazing vision come to life. From Canyon we headed to a little bridge in a near by park for another scene for her portraits.

Little did we know that they little one was going to arrive a lot sooner than we both thought! Her darling second addition to the family surprised everyone when she came a few weeks earlier then planned. Let me tell you, she is beautiful - just like her Momma & Sister. And best of all, you can see just how much this family already loves her!

Here's a few portraits from our session.

The Dirk Family | Red Deer | Family Portraits

This particular session was special to me. After working with Meghan twice during one of my Boudoir Marathons, we clicked. She is such a genuine person with such an overwhelming love for her family. We set a date to do some family portraits, the weather got to the best of us for our original session, but we rescheduled to another date that worked for the both of us.

Check out this gorgeous family below - seriously, they should be in a magazine.

Kim | Maternity | Red Deer

Hi all!

We've got some serious reason to celebrate! In just a few short weeks, Kim will be expecting her 5th baby. If that isn't reason enough to jump for joy, Kim & Thierry are officially (and finally) having a little prince, after 4 princesses.

I had the honour of photographing her - and that baby bump couldn't get any cuter!
See what I'm talking about below!
